Suquamish is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kitsap County, Washington, United States. The population was 3,510 at the 2000 census. Suquamish is located at 474351N, 1223352W (47.730901, -122.564456)GR1.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 19.3 km (7.5 mi). 17.7 km (6.8 mi) of it is land and 1.6 km (0.6 mi) of it (8.43%) is water. As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 3,510 people, 1,459 households, and 948 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 198.1/km (513.1/mi). There were 1,580 housing units at an average density of 89.2/km (231.0/mi). The racial makeup of the CDP was 81.34% White, 0.34% African American, 9.60% Native American, 2.42% Asian, 0.20% Pacific Islander, 1.28% from other races, and 4.81% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.05% of the population.
There were 1,459 households out of which 30.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.0% were married couples living together, 8.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.0% were non-families. 28.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.40 and the average family size was 2.92.
